An exception to ‘Time in the Market beats Timing the Market’
Is an old addage, tried and true. It’s what I do. But I really think that with this months paycheck, I will wait, at least awhile. I can’t imagine a scenario where the war ends or ramps down any time soon. Nor do I see inflation cooling off this spring …
Invincible us equity market
We’re at a stage where the U.S. stock market almost feels untouchable. We have ongoing geopolitical tensions US/Israel-Iran war with no clear resolution, disruptions in oil supply, weak monthly job reports, likely higher inflation ahead, and some concerns around the private credit market. Given all that, you would expect stocks …
the case for staying long despite the trump/iran headlines
the headlines are 100% bearish, which is usually when the bottom is in. yes, the rhetoric is aggressive, but if you look at the historical data of military escalations in the gulf, the initial shock is almost always followed by a massive recovery once the actual 'scope' of the conflict …
Made a stupid mistake - tax related
I'm a fairly experienced investor, but I got shaken by the market in October and sold some stocks at a significant short-term gain. I also had a large windfall from my company in 2025, so unfortunately I am facing a huge tax bill for these stock gains. Obviously I can't …

Potential future scenario
Hello, I'd like to discuss the plausibility of the following scenario materializing - any speculators/strategists here? 1. The U.S. strikes a pragmatic deal with Iran and Israel to stabilize the Middle East and shift strategic focus to the Pacific (call it art of the deal..). Oil prices decline to more …
What happens if a company is acquired, but I own shares and do not want to realise them at the buyout amount?
Lets say ABC gets bought out by Microsoft at $100, I own some shares there but I don't want to sell them at $100, I will only sell them at $120 or so What happens then? is there a clause that automatically realises the shares at the buyout price?
