From Dysprosium to Dystopia- Are there any plays to be made here? Or are we just completely screwed?
Just responded to a great post from someone else on here about most embarrassing bag I hold. So, I figured I would fully embarrass myself with a question (and another bag) that I think I already know the answer to but maybe someone that is a better investor than me …
Tariffs don’t work
This WSJ article “ Companies Building New Factories Brace for Higher Costs” - April 8 2025, highlights how in fact building within the USA under a high tariff environment becomes incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Tariffs raise prices/inflation, making any “build it in USA” construction ongoing or in future incredibly …
Analysing the possibility to short VIX
Currently VIX is trading at 45$, which is a rare sight. There's a couple of times VIX reached this level, especially during 2008/COVID. And one time last year on the japan yen carry trade, but it peaked at almost $70 and still closed < $40 for the day. **DATA for …
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you see the value of your investments wiped out? Then what do you really do after recovery?

Something like a spreadsheet showing what days of the month will be releasing things like earnings, CPI, PPI, CCI, flash PMI, etc. Someone shared one for March, which was helpful. Obviously news related to the tariffs is going to drive the market more than any of these factors alone but …
These money subs are getting exhausting
"Will it still go down, ma? What's happening? What do I do, ma?" I think a great disservice has been done to the current generation by not exposing them to hard times for just a little bit. For over a decade now, it's "line go up", "to the moon", and …
