Rethinking ESG investment; opinion on selling and shifting to other ETFs?

Long story short, when I was first learning about investing I wanted to go with ESG because I wanted a more "ethical" choice. I'm now familiar with how this is a totally false premise, and ESG is just as problematic as anything else.

As you may know, Vanguard ETFs ESGV and VSGX had a very bleak 2022-24, such that after investing my principle in 2021 the yield by 2025 has been 16%. I've spent enough time kicking myself thinking about where I'd be if I'd put the same into VOO, VT, etc., but now that I wouldn't be operating at a loss and I'm not fussed by ESG, I'm considering selling my ESG holdings and investing in sturdier ETFs.

However, my plan is to not touch this investment for 25-30 years, so this really goes against the general wisdom of just holding and being patient.

Would anyone have some experience and/or thoughts about this? Thanks very much!
