So America has been taken advantage of for so long, we got to put tarrifs on country looting us with all this free trade. Countries will pay this tarrif and we will profit and have a massive tax cut!
But actually tarrifs are to boost US economy, since tarrifs will make imports expensive (to us, not the other country) so production will start at home and in the long term, american economy will be better after short term pain.
But actually, they are a negotiation tactic, we got to have better deals from other countries so we threaten and put tarrifs until they succumb to our demands. It’s not something we really want to do.
I am no economist, but I think only one of the above 3 can be true. So Which fucking is it? Why the fuck are we doing this?
