New to ETFs but invested since 2009. Previously preferred holdings in VTSAX and VTWIX - cashed out VTSAX to reduce risk. Testing the waters of VT over time, any tips working with ETFs or learning options?
Max HSA - VTWIX
Max 401k - now 60% LC / 25% MC / 15% Bonds with 100% new going to bonds
Max Roth IRA with conversions - Used to be VTSAX, now I'm working my way around re-entering with VT
Broker is 100% MM for now. - Might use for house or reinvesting.
I'm trying to have 50% in Roth vs pre-tax to diversify my tax risk and I'm almost there. I like to do conversions on down turns to reduce the tax bill. I tend to invest too conservatively but because of my high saving rate my net worth has been growing at a sum greater than my salary for the last few years. I feel like I can reduce my exposer to the "Mag7" risks with VT instead of VTI.
I'm generally a levelheaded investor but it's difficult in the current environment where there are no longer checks and balances in the government.
