Is investing worth it? My boyfriend has always been passionate about it, and since we started dating, he's been quite adamant about me getting involved too. To be honest, I didn't know much about investing at first because no one i know does it, so I find it hard to grasp. He even gifted me a book to explain the benefits and importance of investing, but I can't shake the feeling that it's all just a risky bet and a waste.
While I understand it could potentially benefit my future, my focus is more on the present as i honestly have never a second thought about the future. I've only just landed my first real job and only begun saving, but with bills and expenses always piling up, it feels overwhelming. I really don't want to throw my money at a company I have no interest in.
Does anyone have any insights, perspectives or a better way to make me see through? It feels like such a serious topic for him, and he desires a partner who shares his investment mindset and can engage in those discussions. It makes me feel awful that I can't meet that expectation for him. I think about it everyday.
