Anthropic IPO Discussion – Anyone planning to invest?

Hey everyone,
I wanted to start a thread to talk about the upcoming Anthropic IPO. Now that they filed their draft S-1 and target a listing later this fall, I’m trying to figure out how this usually plays out for everyday retail investors.

I’m pretty new to IPOs and would love to hear from anyone who has traded them before. A few specific things I’ve been wondering about:

1. Is buying on Day 1 actually a good idea? I know hype can drive up the price when public trading starts, but is there a risk of early venture investors dumping their shares immediately, or do lockup rules usually prevent that?
2. Retail access: Can we actually get in at the official offer price through regular brokerages, or are we basically stuck buying on the open market once the price has already popped?
3. Valuation & Costs: Private funding rounds hit nearly $1 trillion, but compute and GPU costs for AI models are massive. How are you guys viewing their long-term margins compared to traditional software companies?

Public Benefit Corporation (PBC): Anthropic is set up as a PBC rather than a standard corporation. Does that change how you look at shareholder returns vs. their safety mandate?
Are you planning to jump in right away when trading opens, or wait a few weeks for price discovery to settle down? Looking forward to hearing how you all are approaching it!
