What about FNDB as a hedge against a drawdown?

I don't recall seeing much talk about Schwab's FNDB on investing subs. In trying to avoid tech sector over-concentration and high P/Es in the big indexes there a fair amount of talk about SCHD, but its drawbacks would be: too much dividend income (taxable), not super-diversified with <100 stocks and 41% in top ten holdings, and high turnover (not important in an ETF?). Seems like FNDB would address all of those concerns. School me on why contrarians are not more vocal about this fund...

Second question: Do Vanguard, TIAA or Fidelity have a similar fund? My wife has a ton of money in TIAA and I doubt any Schwab funds are on the list she can access there. So, most interested in whether TIAA has an equivalent CREF offering
