DOE’s new quantum roadmap could be a big deal for investors

The new U.S. quantum roadmap is shifting the focus away from headline qubit counts and toward actual scientific utility basically, can these machines solve problems classical HPC can’t?

The 2028 target is fault-tolerant systems with roughly 100+ logical qubits and meaningful applications in areas like chemistry, materials and physics.

Obviously, 2028 is still an ambitious deadline, but I think this is interesting from an investing perspective. The government is basically creating a clearer milestone for the industry, which could separate companies that are actually making progress on error correction from those mostly selling the “quantum will change everything” story.

Curious how people here are looking at the space. Is this a meaningful catalyst for quantum stocks?
