\- Why? Because it's nearly impossible to know how quickly AI tech will advance, how strictly it will be regulated, and who will be the winners. The safest way to ensure a good outcome is by investing in the "picks and shovels" that the whole AI buildout relies on.
\- **Copper** accounts for the vast majority of the minerals used in data center infrastructure. Copper is also a benefactor of the global energy transition. As demand for the metal increases so should the price and its related assets.
\- There are two ways to play this: producers or juniors. Producers are already getting an immediate boost in cash flow from the current metals bull run. This increases their immediate earnings and will allow them to acquire more copper projects and increase their annual production. I expect most producers to do well but if you're looking for a higher potential gain you should look at juniors.
\- The goal of a junior miner is to turn a low value land package into a valuable asset, essentially creating value out of nothing. This allows for huge increases in share prices, but there are risks too. Junior stocks can be very volatile, so if that's not your thing stick with producers. It's expensive and difficult to explore and develop good mining projects, which is why many producers simply let juniors do the hard part and only acquire their assets when they have reached certain milestones.
\- My strategy is to find juniors that hold a copper deposit that is large enough for a major producer to be interested in and cash in on the upside of a potential acquisition. Here's 2 tickers I'm currently watching that fit this criteria: $ALDE.V (Aldebaran Resources), $LA.V (Los Andes Copper). DYOR, NFA.
