Establishing cash reserves within my 401k

My 401k has reached a certain level that I'm now comfortable selling off some investments to create either an income generating cash investment or just a simple cash reserve.

I got here sooner than I planned, so now I'm sorta scrambling to learn everything I can about this action....im currently only invested in FXAIX and FSKAX.

Im assuming easiest and most liquid is to simple sell a percentage of shares in the above then hold that cash in the account...but im wondering if there's anything out there that would function like a savings account or something to at least earn something, slowly, as this cash amount grows?

Also please feel free to roast, criticize, etc.

Edit: Okay I'm not gonna mess with something good jut because I hit an "emotional" milestone # that I kinda/sorta arbitrarily decided on. Thanks to everyone who commented, critisized, suggested, etc....yall got me to remember my roots and revisit the /r/personalfinance primary directive or whatever and will instead make sure I'm as far down that model as possible
