Has anyone consistently made good returns by buying the dip and sell when price goes up for years
I'm curious if anyone here has actually done this successfully over several years.
The strategy I'm thinking about is pretty simple:
* Wait for a high quality with **good foundation company (e.g. NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft, Apple)** to drop 3–10%. Then you analyze the company's financial, gather news/rumours about their big deals, projects, big employee/researcher join their company.
* Buy the dip.
* Hold until it recovers 3–10%.
* Sell the entire position.
* Wait for the next opportunity in another quality stock.
* Repeat throughout the year.
For example
* NVIDIA drops 5%, so I buy with 100k.
* A few weeks or a month later it's up 5%, so I sell.
* Later, Google drops 4%, I buy.
* It rebounds 8–10%, so I sell.
* Then I move on to the next opportunity.
I know this sounds like swing trading or a mean reversion strategy, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually done this consistently
and is it woth the risk tho??
