Howdy!
I have a child and recently was hired onto a new job making good money.
My parents grew up very wealthy but never set anything aside for us, and I don't want to make that same mistake for my kid. Since I am in the same boat, making good enough money to invest in their future, I am opening a custodial brokerage.
I want to go the value route. Since it has 21 years to compound and grow, I don't feel the need for risky BS investments.
I am aiming for around $175 a month invested until my wife and I buy a new house. Once that's done, moving to \\\~$500 a month invested into the custodial acct.
What are your thoughts on areas to invest? I have a few, but was curious what the community's thoughts were, too.
