I hv been using margin on stocks for a few weeks and ran into something this week that i didnt understand and it bit me.

theres a diff between when a market is open for trading and when its just showing a quoted price so i assumed if i could see a price moving the market was open and i could execute. (thats not always true) quotrix provides quotes outside regular hours shows prices without the underlying market being fully liquid or tradeable in the same way.

for a spot position this is mostly fine coz for a margin position it matters a lot more because liquidations can theoretically occur during quote hours even when you cant actively trade to defend the position andd guess what i didnt fully understand that distinction before i looked into it properly.

Bitpanda also added a market hours display on the asset page showing clearly when the market is open for trading versus just quoting so it sounds like a small thing but for anyone running margin positions its the kind of info that changes how you think about overnight risk and when you need to be watching.

has anyone else been caught out by the trading hrs vs quote hours distinction on margin positions?
