Need some guidance on what to pick as my bond/fixed income/market downturn hedge.
So, currently mulling over how to diversify and looking to hold 20/25% bond/fixed income to hedge things when my stocks tank.
Considering the following.
\# 1 - probably the favourite - Fidelity Cash W Inc, BD1RHR6. Short term money market fund. Does about 5% yearly.
\# 2 - maybe some kind of fixed income stock Like say, Fidelitys FUQA, or SCHUD. Consists of lots of top 100 companies so feels like a fixed income version of the snp100.
\# 3 - DBMF managed futures. Typically moves in opposite direction during market downturns.
\# 4 - cash in high interest, tax free savings account?
For context I’m 36, own my own home and the rest of my portfolio I’m planning on being 50/55% equities (both US, international and emerging) gold + other commodities, and a lil bitcoin.
All of the above besides the bitcoin will be held in a tax free ISA - U.K. equivalent of a Roth IRA just without the early withdrawal fees.
All ideas/criticisms welcome!
