Intel is up 464% in 12 months and nobody is talking about it because everyone forgot Intel existed.

Genuinely one of the biggest corporate comebacks in recent memory and it's being treated like a footnote.

Apple just agreed to partner with Intel to design and manufacture chips in the US. Trump announced it this morning. Intel premarket up 9%.

The reason this matters more than a normal supply deal:

Apple has been glued to TSMC for years. The problem is TSMC is completely overwhelmed right now because Nvidia and AMD are hogging capacity for AI chips. Apple needed an exit ramp. Intel needed a customer that would make investors take the foundry business seriously.

Both got what they needed.

Lip-Bu Tan took over Intel, stopped the bleeding, landed Nvidia as a customer, got the US government to take a 10% stake and pump in $10 billion, and now Apple. The 18A manufacturing process is in initial production. The TeraFab project with Musk is moving.

A year ago people were writing obituaries for Intel. The PHLX Semiconductor Index is up 90% in 2026 alone.

Sometimes the most obvious comeback story is the one everyone ignores because the narrative got too negative to see clearly.
