I have about $5,000 to invest and I’m trying to build my first real portfolio. I want to get into ETFs, but I’m not sure how much of my portfolio should be ETFs vs individual stocks.
My main interests are AI and technology like chips, software, and big tech, and also materials like silver and copper that are used in things like electronics, iPhones, and chips.
I’m also not sure how to approach individual stocks. If I buy ETFs, do I need to avoid buying the same companies as individual stocks to avoid too much overlap?
Help is appreciated!
