The federal government just gave quantum stocks one of the strongest tailwinds I’ve seen

Quantum computing just got a serious policy tailwind.

The U.S. government is putting around **$2B** behind quantum and semiconductor companies through Commerce Department letters of intent, and the government is expected to take minority equity stakes in some supported companies.

That list includes names like IBM, GlobalFoundries, Rigetti, D-Wave, PsiQuantum, Quantinuum, Infleqtion and Atom Computing.

To me, this changes the sector.

Quantum is not just a speculative tech theme anymore. It is now tied to:

national security
encryption
AI/scientific computing
semiconductor supply chains
federal labs
post-quantum cybersecurity
China competition

The problem is that a lot of the pure-play stocks already moved hard.

So I’m trying to figure out whether the better trade is:

1. pure plays like IONQ / RGTI / QBTS / QUBT
2. large-cap exposure like IBM / GOOG / MSFT / AMZN / HON
3. picks-and-shovels companies around chips, photonics, cryogenics, lasers and cybersecurity
4. waiting for Quantinuum / PsiQuantum / Infleqtion-style IPOs

How are people playing the quantum theme without overpaying?
