I saw that Berkshire Hathaway had invested a lot of money in Google and it has been hitting all time highs. Does anyone really even Google things anymore? I feel like search is just being routed to AI bots. If I need a recipe or something, I’m not even googling it anymore I just put it in a ChatGPT or Claude.
Even when you google something nowadays, Gemini brings up the result first, and I don’t scroll down and I don’t see any ads anymore.
In many respects, it seems to me that Gemini is really just cannibalizing its own search engine. Is there something I’m missing here?
