This took me about 15 years, started with 50k. I'm 40.
I was/am ignorant about money matters, I just didn't waste any and saved whatever income that came my way.
My biggest investments were/are super boring, brkb and various vanguard funds. My biggest mistake--excluding missed opportunities--is in the same category--I thought Europe would catch up with the US back when I started investing so had most of my money in that part of the world.
I hope posts like this one is fine. I don't really want to share this with anyone I know in real life--what do you guys do?
