Unbelievable - this post might make you feel better about your own positions.

Hi all, first time posting here. Not looking for advice and this isn’t the end of the world for me either, but thought it interesting to share. I’m not looking for sympathy, but I thought this might make some of you feel better as it truly feels unbelievable. Financially I am fine as well, so please don’t have any concern.

So, around 2020 I started investing in stocks, and it started off well. However, being very naive. I then took the money and largely put everything into one company, ticker HYLN.
Initially it went very well, but once again, naivety and greed meant I didn’t sell even at huge profits; the company then nose dived, and on the way down I bought some more…
I was suddenly down on the stock and a loss overall; this was the first time. For the next year, I just watched it plummet further. Eventually, I stopped checking frequently.
In December 2024, I was tempted to get back in after having my hands burnt. I sold. 1 week after selling, the stock doubles in price. Unbelievable, but I bought a small position for peace off mind.
At the start of this year, I decided to properly give the market another go, and I have invested in much safer companies, such as Microsoft etc. and it is going well, and I am happy with my long term plan with the main goal being to make back what I’d lost.
However, last month upon checkin, one company was still in the red, HYLN. I decided after such a long time, it was best just to sell and put it out of my mind.
I received a notification today from a very old price alert I had set. In the last month since selling, it has gone up 280%…
It truly feels like I am an anchor for that stock as it has done nothing but fall except for the two times I sold it which it then doubled and went up 280% the next time.
As a lesson, I shouldn’t have sold the second time after the first experience, but I suppose that’s all part of it.
