Dangote upcoming IPO and how Americans can invest.

Has anyone actually managed to buy stocks on an African exchange from the US? I’ve been researching it and every path seems to require opening a foreign brokerage account, wiring money internationally, or using platforms with zero US regulatory protection. Curious if anyone has navigated this successfully or if it’s just genuinely that difficult?
