My Financial Advisor changed my Roth IRA from ETFs to individual stocks.

I’m wondering why my financial advisor changed my Roth IRA from mostly ETFs into individual stocks. I thought ETFs were safer and more diversified, so I’m trying to understand the reasoning behind the switch and whether it actually benefits me long term.
