I’m trying to understand how **property investment works in Europe**, especially if the long-term goal is residency and eventually citizenship.
The idea I have in mind is:
* **invest in property in a European country**
* **rent it out (long-term or short-term like Airbnb)**
* **manage it properly, even if I’m not living there full-time at the start**
* **and over time, qualify for residency → then eventually citizenship**
I’ve been looking into countries like Portugal, Spain, and Greece, but I’m a bit confused about what actually works right now since I’ve heard a lot of the “Golden Visa” rules have changed recently.
What I’m trying to figure out:
* **Which countries still offer property investment → residency pathways**
* **How realistic it is to manage rental property**
* **Typical investment ranges to get started**
* **And what the real path to citizenship looks like (timeline, requirements, whether you need to live there full-time, etc.)**
