In India Investing and trading are getting mixed up and it’s costing people

Something feels off in the current market environment. A lot of people say they are “investing,” but their behaviour looks like trading. And a lot of people say they are “trading,” but they have no defined system.

***It’s all getting blurred.***

Long-term investing is being treated like a short-term scoreboard checking portfolios daily, reacting to every move, exiting too early or holding blindly. At the same time, trading is being approached casually with no risk management, no position sizing, just entries based on noise and hope.

The result is Investors don’t get the benefit of compounding and traders don’t survive long enough to become consistent.

Both sides lose just not because the market is bad, but because the approach is confused. The problem is lack of clarity.

People don’t decide upfront am I here to compound wealth over years? or am I here to extract short-term opportunities?

Because both require completely different mindsets, rules, and expectations.
