Edelman vs ?? anything else for investing $300,000 sitting in a Wealthfront HYSA plus $240,000 in an old 401K at Vanguard (2045 fund)

Hi. My husband sold a house he owned from before we met and we now have $300K sitting in Wealthfront for almost a year. We finally started steps today to figure out what to do with that money besides letting it sit at WF not doing much. We had a phone call with Edelman and it felt a bit pressure-y to sign up, but I am very sensitive to those things so maybe it wasn't and I was projecting.

Their fees at $500,000 invested are 0.39% every quarter.. Logically, I know that the projected growth will outweigh the fees but it still seems like a lot! Thousands of dollars every year..

When they asked what my goals were, it was to pay off the house as fast as possible as being mortgage free sounds amazing and we do not have any other debts. They advised not putting any of the money into our current mortgage ($480K / 3.25% APR / $2800/mo, 24 years left... ). They also advised rolling over my old workplace Vanguard 401K into an IRA managed by them ,along with the WF cash.

Should we have a fiduciary? Or just consult with Vanguard and just put the WF money into a Vanguard IRA, mutual fund, or some other moderate investment account for the goals of growing our money for retirement in about 20 years? We are 44 and 46 by the way!

Thank you so much :)
