For new investors; If you’re waiting on the sidelines to invest, now is the time

I keep seeing a lot of posts lately asking “is this a good time to start investing?” and honestly, I think people are overthinking it.

For a bit of context, I’ve been investing in things like gold over the past couple of years and done pretty well. But this is actually my first time properly buying into a broad index fund.

And I’ll be honest, I think this is a great time to start.

Prices aren’t at highs. Things feel uncertain. That’s exactly when people hesitate. But if you look at it differently, you’re essentially getting in at a discount.

If there was something you wanted to buy and it suddenly dropped in price, you wouldn’t sit there waiting for it to go back up before buying it. You’d take advantage of it, right?

That’s how I see the market right now.

Instead of holding back, I’ve actually decided to deploy more money than I originally planned into my all-world index fund. And I’m just going to keep dollar cost averaging into it consistently.

I’m not worried about what happens over the next few months. Whether it takes a few months or longer to recover doesn’t really matter to me. I’m investing for the long term, and I’m confident it’ll trend upwards over time.

I think a lot of people see this kind of market as a bad time to start, but I genuinely see it as an opportunity.

You don’t need to time it perfectly. You just need to start.
