I am in two bond funds, FTBFX and FXNAX. They each list a 30 day yield of 4.27% and 4.03%. Yet the distributions are more like 3% and 2.72% (averaged over the last three months). The fees on these are low, .45% and .025%, so that does not account for the difference.
Any idea how they can claim such a high yield when the reality is so much different?
Is there way one can get the true rate of distribution on a bond fund without delving into the math?
