NIOB may have another REE target forming at the Sabot project (defense play)
Was reading about North American Niobiums exploration work in Quebec and it looks likethey might be adding another project to its growing pipeline. Recent prospecting at the Sabot project returned elevated rare earth element values, including samples grading around 0.155% Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO). Because of those results they are now evaluating Sabot for inclusion in its near-term exploration plans alongside the Bardy and Blanchette projects. + what makes Sabot interesting is the geological setting. The mineralization occurs within an alkaline intrusion in contact with metasedimentary rocks which is a similar type of environment seen in large-tonnage rare earth systems like the Motzfeldt project in Greenland. Of course it’s still early stage and will need more drilling and testing to confirm the scale, but it does add another potential target to the portfolio.
Most junior explorers are focused on just one flagship project. If Sabot continues to show promising results, NIOB could end up advancing multiple targets at the same time, which could create a steady flow of exploration news going forward. Just one of the defense plays im looking at
