What do you actually pay for when it comes to macro research and forecasting?
Bloomberg terminal, obviously. Bank research from the bulge brackets. Maybe a Stratfor or Eurasia Group sub if you're in a geopolitical-heavy role.
But when it comes to actual probability on a specific event, like "will the Fed cut before June" or "will OPEC extend cuts", what are people paying for? Is it just the bank notes and your own judgment from there?
I'm realizing I spend a lot on macro research that gives me narrative and not much on anything that gives me an actual number I can plug into a model.
What do people find worth paying for versus what they've dropped because it wasn't actionable enough?
