Roobinhood sports betting

I wanted to share something that happened to me recently while trading event contracts on Robinhood because I’m curious if anyone else experienced the same thing.

I bought contracts related to the outcome of a football game through Robinhood’s event contracts feature. One of the conditions involved the total score staying under a certain number.

At around 7:16 PM EST, the score went over the threshold. At that moment the contract was mathematically impossible to win and the real value of the contract became $0.00.

However, the Robinhood app continued allowing people to buy the contract for about 17 more minutes after the outcome was already determined and visible on the platform.

During that time:

• The live score showing the outcome was displayed in the app

• The contract still appeared tradable

• The app allowed purchases for actual money even though the contract could only settle at $0

I contacted Robinhood support and provided screenshots and timestamps. They didn’t dispute that the trades happened after the outcome was known.

Their response was basically that Robinhood is an “execution-only platform” and the exchange (Kalshi) is responsible for stopping trading, so they said they wouldn’t offer remediation.

A supervisor even acknowledged the situation was “not fair,” but they still declined to do anything about it.

What confused me is that the consumer-facing platform still allowed purchases even though the outcome was already known and the contract had no remaining value.

At this point I’ve reported the issue to multiple regulators to review the platform behavior.

I’m posting this here because I’m curious:

• Did anyone else trade these event contracts that night?

• Did anyone else notice trading continuing after the outcome was already decided?

• Has anyone else had issues with event contracts on Robinhood?

I’m genuinely interested to see if others experienced the same thing.
