I still remember when I gained admission into high school. It was an exciting time, new environment, new friends, new experiences. Among the people I met were a few guys who were into Forex trading. One of them stood out. He was extremely obsessed with trading and carried himself like he had everything figured out.
We got closer, talked often, and eventually he introduced me to trading Gold. He showed me videos and screenshots of big wins. At the time, I didn’t realize most of it was exaggerated, he was trying to look like an expert. I believed him.
I had my school fees with me, money my parents worked really hard to provide. He convinced me we could double it. I took the risk.
I lost everything.
Later, I found out he wasn’t a professional either. He had also lost his own school fees and was desperately trying to recover it through trading. That year, I forfeited my admission. It was one of the lowest moments of my life, and I was deeply disappointed in myself.
But that setback became a turning point.
During the time I was out of school, I decided to truly understand the Forex market instead of chasing quick profits. I studied, practiced, failed, adjusted, and slowly improved. I focused on risk management, psychology, and discipline, the things I ignored at first. I was even among the early users who explored bitget tradfi before its official launch, gaining exposure to more structured trading environments.
Most importantly, I learned my lesson the hard way.
Trading didn’t just teach me about charts and markets, it taught me accountability, patience, and responsibility. I can’t change what happened, but I used that experience to rebuild myself into someone wiser and more disciplined.
Sometimes the most painful losses shape the strongest foundations.
Have you ever lost something important chasing a dream, only to realize the loss was actually the beginning?
