I’m added a new position to my portfolio. The market buy order at Fidelity has been sitting in open status for 6 hours, while 2 other orders have been filled
2 questions:
1 - Is there a way to get an idea of how long orders will take to fill? Like a trading volume number?
2 - How long do people wait for an order to fill before they give up and look for an alternative investment? eg a VOO sits for 3 days, perhaps cancel and place an IVV or SPY order instead.
I’m used to the experience with buying ETFs treasury bill funds and S&P 500 index ETFs which fill almost instantly. Now I’m trying to buy a small posit FSPTX and it’s been sitting there for 7 hours unfilled.
