I was too poor to be able to save up for my son's college, but now that I'm doing a little better financially I want to try to help him. He's a legal adult now and in college, using student loans. I figure I can set aside some money each month and put it into some kind of investment account, then several years down the line after he graduates I can give it to him to pay off his student loans.
What I'm wondering is if there's any special kind of account for this kind of thing? Something that maybe has a tax advantage of some kind? If not, I guess I'll just open a normal brokerage account and use that. But I thought I'd ask first.
