Does the 4% rule even apply anymore when it comes to index funds?
Everyone keeps repeating that VOO does \~9% a year long term. So I bought the UCITS version in Europe (VUSA) back in December 2024 at €109.5.
It’s basically the same price today.
So… where’s the 9%?
Honestly, where does the 4% rule even show up here?
I know “long term” means years, not months, but when people talk about these returns it makes it sound way smoother than this. Just trying to understand what I might be missing.
