Honest question. If you are with Fidelity and say you have the total market index fund FSKAX. What is the point of buying VTI, a vanguard ETF? I saw someone comment a couple weeks back saying that they do this, they have mostly FSKAX, but they bought the ETF from vanguard because they wanted to see the amount moves throughout the day like a stock and that it is technically better than FSKAX but they didn't really go into y
I do know the differences between ETFs and mutual funds/index funds very well. So that part is not lost on me. The expense ratio is technically higher as well for VTI, 0.030. so that's not an issue. I mean it's a little higher but not really that major
