Hey everyone,
I’m currently grappling with whether to hold risk assets in my Roth through the next 48 hours or trim positions.
I’m heavy on Big Tech and have some exposure to European industrials. Like everyone, yesterday’s headlines about the 10-25% tariff threats over Greenland have me spooked, especially with Trump arriving in Davos today.
I'm considering selling about 15% of my high-beta tech holdings after market opens today to lock in some of the 2025 gains and rotating that cash into IAU. I also have an open sell order for all my BND and am thinking about rolling that into VDC and ITA.
This would be more about reducing exposure at the margin and sleeping better if the next 48 hours get uglier. At the same time, I’m wary of hiding in defensives too early and missing a snapback if this all fizzles.
Curious how others are thinking about this. Are you treating this as noise and holding through it, trimming selectively, or fully de-risking until there’s more clarity? Would especially love to hear from anyone who’s navigated similar macro-political shocks without whipsawing themselves.
Appreciate any insights. Cheers.
