Trump threatening to invade Greenland and putting on tariffs on EU countries trying to stop it from happening is one side of the coin.
Flip side is ZEISS mirrors from Germany and ASML in the Netherlands putting the machines together to allow Silicon Valley to produce their chips. GER and NED firmly hold the semiconductor branch by its balls. If Germany cuts off future ZEISS mirrors, OR Netherlands decides that they won't deliver their machines to US companies, the already wobbly AI bubble is gonna blow up into all of our faces.
Mind you: there is simply no substitution for ZEISS mirrors. Scaled to the size of Germany, their mirrors have an error margin of 0.2mm (that's roughly the size of 2 human hairs for our non-metric audience) and they are literally 10-15 years ahead of competition. Not in a Steve Jobs' "and oh boy did we patent it" kind of way when he released the iPhone. Nobody can simply reverse engineer it. Even Japan (!) gave up on it. huh.
Good time to realize profits imho
