Do you try to “gamify” your investing strategy? If so, how do you do it?
I like to turn my investment strategy into small little games / goals. It’s keeps me motivated and leads to increased investments at times to reach a goal or “win.” For example, I like to set up my investments like a video game. “Must pass 100 shares VOO before you may move to the next level.” Or “must reach 500$ per month in dividend income to pass go” Basically, I can only invest in my current goal until I reach that number, and then I can start a new goal. It keeps me focused, I learn about new asset classes, and often it leads me to invest more than my monthly DCA.
I understand these strategies may be inefficient and not lead to “max gains,” but what they lack in overall returns, they make up for with occasional increased investments and the joy it brings me to reach certain milestones and goals.
