ETFs for Long Term Wealth Storage

Hello, Investors:

I am going to set up a brokerage account this year to house saved funds for my soon-to-be-born daughter's college fund, and "retirement" funds for my wife and me.

All of my experience with the stock market is in swing trading individual tickers (no options, futures, forex or crypto), which has been very successful for me. But I see swing trading as a way to pull funds out of the market (income), and not a a smart way to store wealth for long term growth (savings).

My plan is to pick one broad spectrum ETF and to DCA into that one ticker for the next 18 (for college fund) to 30 (for "retirement" fund) years. I personally think it is a waste of money for us to use a financial planner since I have educated myself on the markets, and long-term family planning.

Currently I am torn between VT and VTI. Do you have any opinion on either ETF?

Please share your opinions on which ETFs you have experience with, and any experience you have had with a similar plan. Also, please let me know if it looks like I am missing something here. I don't want to fall into a trap just because I don't know what I don't know.

NOTE: I am not seeking any *advice*. I am merely curious as to your experiences and opinions so that I can use that information as another data point in my research and planning.

Thank you for your time and I hope you have a great day.
