For me personally, I’m 21 still in school while maintaining a small business. I pulled in around 90 this year from my part time job and business. I keep about 20k in my Wealthsimple interest account and another 25k in my TFSA. I do have banks with CIBC and TD but don’t have too much in there. I also have an additional 50k in investments like shoes/trading cards to sell in the future.
How would you guys go about the amount of cash someone should have? 6 months of expenses or more? I always think my WS account isn’t enough but my peers around say it’s more than satisfactory. I don’t want to buy a property anytime soon as well. I just track everything with Excel for my business, Blossom for dividends in TFSA, and Collector for my trading cards. Cibc also has a nice feature to combine your net worth as well.
