Not sure if this place is the right to ask such questions but been working on a small news & sentiment alert setup for my own equity trades, and one thing has become pretty obvious: price often starts moving fast around an event, and the headline only shows up a couple of minutes later in most news APIs.
I’m not expecting to be first, but that delay feels meaningful when you’re trying to trade around news.
For people who actively trade events how do you deal with this in practice? What news sources are you using?
