$8,000 in credit card debt and $10,000 in savings. Pay it off or put it towards retirement?

I have four credit cards totalling around $8,000. This year I plan to take care of that debt. After all my bills are paid, I have very little left over, so it would take the entire year (if not longer) to gradually pay it off....

I have about $10,000 sitting in a savings account. I'm considering using the savings to pay off the debt, but is there a better way to go about this?
