Is there any insensitive to contributing to a brokerage account when my 401k account is not maxed out for the year?

I have a 401k and a work Roth, a personal roth and brokerage account. In 2025 i maxed out my personal Roth and contributed about 10k to my brokerage account. I don’t recall exactly how much I added to my 401 k maybe 18k and 5 k to my work roth.

Im debating if there is any benefit into contributing to my personal Roth and brokerage account before I’ve maxed out my 401k?

The reason I did this during 2025 is because I could select what I purchased with my contributions such as stocks and ETF as opposed to just having my employer/ vanguard manage the funds I add through my direct deposit funds. The only benefit I see is the money being tax free.

Are there any other advantages that I am missing? Should I continue this way or max out my 401k for the year first?
