Hi all -
I bought 160 shares of Palantir in late 2024 in a smaller account. I studied the company and watched the stock like crazy before I invested, but I should’ve bought more. Some were purchased at $31 and some were purchased at $43. I let my dad sometimes manage one of my accounts, a smaller, diversified portfolio, as he has done really well in the stock market. I’ve was pregnant this past year and not looking at my accounts as I didn’t want to make any rash decisions (pregnancy hormones). He asked me in May 2025 if I would think about selling some shares since I made a good profit and he thought palantir’s rapid growth was unsustainable. I told him he could sell 10 shares, but I’d really prefer him not to. In June 2025 I told him, I hope you didn’t sell any palantir, and he replied “you’re good.” I found out last week after I got back on my account for the first time that he sold 160 shares, 60 at $121.02 in May 2025 and 80 shares at $158.65 in August 2025. He didn’t tell me about this, and I didn’t see the emails or check my account so I didn’t find out until last week. Usually I manage my account weekly. Now I only have 20 shares left. In my dads defense, he has made me a lot of money on stocks, so while I am angry at him, he always tells me before he buys and sells and I do the bulk of the trading. My stock advisor only manages big funds and not individual stocks, so he doesn’t place any trades for me. I am wondering if I should buy back Palantir, at least 30 shares, as its growth is expected to continue to skyrocket. I know its trading at $181 but have no problem putting a couple thousand into it.
