Looking for long-term investment ideas at this time

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to start investing more consistently and could use some perspective from people with more experience.

My plan is to invest around €500 every few months, with a long-term horizon (10+ years). I’m not looking for quick gains, mainly preservation of value with a reasonable long-term return.

I’ve been considering a few options:

Physical gold, but many people say it’s not the best idea right now since it’s at an all-time high.

An S&P 500 ETF, but I also keep seeing comments that the index is currently “too high” to enter.

Some Asian/emerging markets ETFs, but opinions on those are mixed as well.

So now I’m a bit stuck, it feels like everything is “not a good idea right now,” which doesn’t make sense if I want to invest regularly.

Given today’s market conditions, what would you consider a sensible long-term investment strategy for someone contributing periodically and not trying to time the market?

All advice and perspectives are welcome.
