Rollover John Hancock 401k even though I am still with my employer?

Hi all, hoping for some advice here.

I have a 401(k) with my current employer through John Hancock. I have heard lots about how horrible JH is as a provider due to fees, etc., especially compounded over time.

I do most of my investing with Schwab and already have a rollover IRA with some old 401(k) funds from previous employers moved into that. I’m curious if it would be advisable to perhaps yearly(?) move the money from my John Hancock 401(k) into my Schwab IRA where I know I am not being hit with fees, etc. and I have a lot more options in terms of controlling my investment strategy. Thoughts?
