I won a medical malpractice and got about 348k lump sum. My lawyer referred me to his financial advisors and I’ve been with them since Jan of 2023. Since then the account has grown to 407k and I pay the advisors a 1% flat fee. My portfolio is a mix of “exchange traded funds”, mutual funds, & money market funds. In the past year the account was up 8.6%. My brother is insisting I transfer the money to a robo advisor situation like wealthfront to avoid the advisor fees but I have very little knowledge on anything to do with investing so that scares me. He said his account is up 22% in the last year and I’m losing money by staying with the advisors. Any tips or things to consider would be appreciated…. Thank you
