A lot of investors on here are a bit tedious in their recommendation of global index funds over individual stocks. But can those people honestly say that, given the choice of $50k Google stocks or $50k S&P 500 stocks they would always choose S&P? Some of the big blue chips are only likely to significantly drop if the market as a whole drops, so why obsess over ETFs?
