Alright wife and I are both military and plan to retire at the age of 39 from the service and would have 2 pensions and some sort of VA.
We don’t live off of a lot of money right now and by the time we retire our final kid would almost be an adult.
As of now we make $85k taxable income and $60k tax free so we are fortunate and are paying very low in taxes with a big income for the prices our military benefits give us (daycare for 2 kids is $1k a month)
We are early 20s and crossed $100k across our TSPs and Roth IRAs, we recently lowered TSPs to 5% for the match and will still max IRAs putting us around $1900 a month with match.
We are able to save/invest an additional $2500-$3500 a month into a savings, brokerage or increasing TSPs.
I think if we are going to be fully retired from a paying job at 39-40 y/o focusing on a brokerage makes the most sense.
What would you all recommend?
